Sapphire Spray Nozzles
Sapphire material is one of the hardest materials available for use in the spray nozzle business. Looking at abrasion resistant ratios, standard stainless steel orifices have a hardness of 4 - 15, whereas sapphire orifices have a material hardness of 600 - 2000. IC Spray Ltd chooses sapphire as a medium, as it is a material without impurities especially coloured pigmentation and gives a "clean" sided orifice with smooth edges, which can permit an even better flow and spray performance.
We recommend Sapphire spray nozzles where effective use avoids the effects of erosion and the resulting effect of deterioration of the spray quality. This deterioration of the spray quality is caused by the wear and erosion of the orifice in the spray nozzle with the spray angle, spray pattern and flow all being affected.
Our spray nozzles with sapphire orifice inserts offer high wear resistance, giving a more consistent spray performance and excellent spray quality over a longer period of time. This improved performance results in less down time, enhanced performance of the spray pattern and the potential of better product quality.
The sapphire orifice can be combined with a multitude of different spray tips and nozzle bodies, making them versatile and easy to install in numerous applications.
The standard spray angle is 0º, however alternative flat spray angles can be considered.
We are specialists in the supply and manufacture of industrial spray nozzles in a variety of materials, including, brass, stainless steel, hastelloy and plastics including PVC, Polypropelene and PVDF.
Nozzle tips and orifice inserts are also available in a range of tungsten carbides, ceramics and hard metals.
